If you or someone you know feels unsafe, there are a number of local and national services available to help you.
A list of local services is available for the two communities we have focused on in this project - Northern Beaches Sydney NSW and the Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday region in Queensland.
If you’re not in either of these regions, or would feel more comfortable speaking to someone outside of your local area, please reach out to one of these national support services. Many of them are available 24/7, and have a range of phone, web and online chat options:
Are you or somebody you know in crisis?
In an emergency, call 000 immediately.
If the situation is urgent, and you or someone else is at immediate risk, call 000 or go to your closest emergency department.
If you are supporting someone who has a plan to harm themselves, do not leave the person alone, unless you are concerned for your own safety.
Call Lifeline 13 11 14 or the Suicide Call Back Service 1300 659 467 for support.
